Every year, the Pantone Colour Institute announces a Colour of the Year. Which, according to experience, will have profound influence on the creative industry and beyond.

In 2018 the Pantone Color of the Year is called Ultra Violet, a dark blue-based purple. Which Pantone describes as a dramatic, provocative and thoughtful shade that “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” Symbolised by the limitless night sky.

A subtle tint or a bold statement, Ultra Violet can be both. Be prepared to see more of this colour throughout the year. We are excited to see how Ultra Violet will inspire creativity and, of course, the world of imagery.
